Clonemap 1.0 — First release

Clonemap shows what an APFS drive really holds: how much of it is stored once as clones, where those clones live, and what a local snapshot is holding back.

What’s in it

  • An overview of each drive: what its files add up to against what the disk holds, and the drive drawn as a slab of the places with the most in clones.
  • Clone families: every set of files that share one set of blocks, largest saving first, with where each copy lives and what deleting them would free.
  • What the snapshot holds: why deleting frees so little while a local snapshot is kept, split into what it holds, what clones share and what is yours alone.
  • A card with your drive’s figures and slab, to copy, save or send.
  • Reads file metadata only. No file is opened, changed or uploaded.
  • Free and Universal, for macOS 11 or later.
